Anubis the Jackal God
A Burning Man Installation
Anubis is a 50 foot tall wooden sculpture depicting the Egyptian Jackal-god. It has three sets of spiral stairs along the back, leading to a ladder platform and observation deck in the head. It will be colored black and red, with gold trim. The participant will hear the sounds of multiple tank-bells ringing from the strikes of other participants.
At night, the piece will be illuminated with flood lighting from below, and simple, but dramatic attached up and down-lighting to enhance the depth of the piece, and to bring out the human form built into the front of the structure.
